‘Save VIA’ has finally done it.
The online petition started by Chris West has passed the 4000 signature mark.
It was started by the St Marys businessman to pressure the federal government to restore passenger rail service.
When he first launched it on MoveOn.org, West said he would have been delighted with 100 signatures.
As of this morning, the petition sits at 4017 names.
West says he’ll forward it along to a sympathetic Member of Parliament to present it to the House of Commons.
