Environment Canada has now issued a snow squall warning for our area. Forecasters say snow squalls with frequent sudden white out conditions will continue this afternoon east of Lake Ontario, with snow squalls developing this afternoon east of Lake Huron. Local snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are possible today, with another 5 to 10 cm possible by tomorrow morning. Motorists are advised to exercise caution as visibilities are expected to be near zero at times, resulting in dangerous winter driving conditions. Highway 7/8 remains closed in both directions between Stratford and Wilmot Easthope Road near New Hamburg due to the weather. Meanwhile, a crash has been reported in New Hamburg and the eastbound lanes of Highway 7/8 are closed from Peel Street to Bleams Road.
