North Perth couple fall victim to grandparent scam

A couple of seniors from Listowel are out some cash after getting caught in the grandparent scam.

The Perth County OPP says the victims got in touch with them last Friday.

They had gotten a call from someone claiming to be their grandson.

The scammer had enough details, such as their grandson’s name and knowledge of an upcoming surgery, to sound convincing.

Police are continuing to investigate and are reminding you to verify the identity of anyone that asks you for money.
