Mornington Street bridge replacement gets sped up

The Mornington Street bridge should reopen sooner rather than later.

At Monday’s meeting Stratford city council agreed to expedite the process.

A single bid of $402,500 for the bridge replacement was accepted, sidestepping the usual bid competition for projects like this.

The bridge, which has been closed for months, could now be reopened as early as the end of March.

Originally it was supposed to be closed for nearly a year.
