Scammers claiming to work for Festival Hydro

Festival Hydro is warning people about a scam.

The company says some impostors are calling up customers and telling them their accounts are in arrears.

The scammers then demand an immediate credit card payment or threaten to disconnect the hydro.

Festival Hydro says it does not ask for credit card payments over the phone.

If you get a call like this do not give out any of your personal or financial information.

You may report it to the Canadian Anti- Fraud Centre at 1 888 495 8501.

If you have any questions about your Festival Hydro account status, you can call 519-271-4700 or 1-866-444-9370 Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
