Cullitons Head Coach steps down in wake of Vandergunst conviction

Stratford Cullitons Head Coach Phil Westman has resigned.

Westman was also the team’s Director of Hockey Operations.

This comes in the wake of Assistant Captain Mitch Vandergunst’s sexual assault conviction earlier this week.

The Stratford Hockey Club’s Board of Directors says it only first learned of Vandergunst’s legal issues on January 30th.

Tyler Canal has been named Interim Head Coach and Jason Lott is taking over Hockey Operations.
