First driver at a R.I.D.E checkpoint has licence suspended

A R.I.D.E checkpoint in South Huron netted some quick results.

The OPP says the first driver that went through the intersection of Huron Street and Morrison Line Sunday night had his vehicle towed away and his licence suspended.

While speaking with the driver an officer determined he’d been drinking and also spotted an open container of alcohol.

The driver failed a roadside test and Intoxilyzer tests at the Huron OPP detachment.

The 26-year-old South Huron man has had his licence suspended for three days.
