Stratford launches $500 million lawsuit against U.S. company

A Texas based guardrail company is being sued by the City of Stratford.

The class-action, which ABC News got a hold of, is for the tidy sum of $500 million.

It alleges that Trinity Industries knowingly provided the city with traffic guardrails that had dangerous design flaws.

A 20/20 episode from last year claimed the company changed how much metal was in a part of the guardrails without letting officials know.

Five deaths and a number of injuries have been linked to those guardrails in the United States.
