OPP not soliciting funds for teddy bear program

The Perth County OPP wants to let people know they aren’t soliciting donations for teddy bears.

The Community Bear Program gives officers black and white teddy bears to give to children involved in traumatizing situations like a car crash.

Recently the Norfolk OPP has gotten a number of calls from people who’ve been asked to donate to teddy bear funds.

The OPP says their program has a corporate sponsor.

You’re reminded to double check the identity of anyone who asks you for money.
