Former Stratford man pleads guilty to manslaughter

James Parise has pled guilty to manslaughter.

Parise, who was raised in Stratford, entered the plea yesterday in connection with the death of Kitchener’s Catherine Todd in March of last year.

According to CTV News Kitchener Parise had gone to Todd’s apartment with the intention of paying to have sex with her.

Parise said he asked Todd to get some cocaine for him.  According to him the deal went bad and he ended up being attacked and robbed.

An enraged Parise then beat Todd, killing her inadvertently.

He then dumped her body and couch in a Waterloo landfill.

Parise was arrested in Stratford a few days later.

He’ll be back in court next week for his sentencing.
