NDP reacts to budget

Reactions keep coming in to yesterday’s federal budget.

The Perth-Wellington NDP is unimpressed with Jim Flaherty’s document.

Romayne Smith-Fullerton is the party’s candidate in the upcoming provincial election but commented on behalf of the federal riding association.

She says the Harper government is projecting a large surplus for next year but this comes after cuts to Canada Post and Veterans Affairs, among others:

The budget is nearly balanced with a $2.9 billion deficit but with a $3 billion contingency fund.
