UTRCA says large amounts of snow could lead to flooding

The Upper Thames River Conservation Authority is keeping an eye on the watershed thanks to the massive amounts of snow we’ve had.

The Authority says the heavy snow pack has increased the potential for flooding when the warmer weather arrives.

Measurements are being done twice monthly at 13 locations across the watershed to determine just how much more water there could be when things start to melt.

The potential for flooding depends on how quickly the weather warms up combined with how much precipitation comes along with it.
