PDHU wants to help you STOP smoking

If you want to kick the butt but can’t do it cold turkey, there’s free help available!

Local smokers can take part in the province-wide STOP program.

STOP stands for Smoking Treatment for Ontario Patients.

People who enroll in the program will receive free nicotine replacement therapy to help them quit the habit.

The Perth District Health Unit will host a workshop in Stratford next week for anyone interested.

Adrienne Adas is the public health promoter with the PDHU.

She says the workshop is open to everyone, even those who don’t have a family doctor.

Adas says the best method for a smoker to quit the habit varies greatly from one person to the next.

The STOP workshop will take place Thursday, February 20th but people must register in advance.

To do so, call the PDHU at 1-877-271-7348 ext. 267 or visit its website for more information.
