PED spreads to new farms

The Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus continues to spread.

Two more farms in Ontario were confirmed to have the nasty disease in their pig herds.

This brings the total number of cases in the province up to sixteen.

PED has also spread into Manitoba and Prince Edward Island.

The virus poses no threat to humans or to meat quality but it has killed millions of piglets in the United States.
