Stratford Festival posts surplus for 2014

2014 was a good year for the Stratford Festival.

It held its Annual General Meeting Saturday to discuss the highlights of the season.

Ann Swerdfager is the Festival’s Publicity Director.

She says it was a jam packed year:

At the meeting the Festival announced a $795,000 surplus for 2014.

That’s a far cry from 2012 when they posted a $3.4 million deficit.

Swerdfager says a renewed interest in one type of production is part of the reason for the turnaround:

Overall attendance last season was 462,000, which was 2% ahead of their target.
