Careless hunting leads to big fines for St. Marys man

A St. Marys man has been hit with some big fines from the Ministry of Natural Resources.

This comes after some careless hunting.

The MNR says he was hunting in Restoule near Lake Nipissing this past November.

He spotted deer on private property and fired twice at the deer in the direction of a family home and two large propane tanks.

The man was charged with firing a gun without due care, a couple counts of trespassing, and not attaching his seal to a dead deer immediately.

In total the fines came to $4,000.
