EMS base and ambulance headquarters not going in Stratford

It turns out Stratford may not be the home of a Perth County EMS base.

Amalgamation talks with Huron County could change those plans.

The Beacon Herald is reporting Perth County Council voted down a tender to build the base and ambulance headquarters on Douro Street Thursday.

The Douro Street location had been chosen after years of work.

Gateman-Milloy had been the recommended builder, with a bid of just over $4.9 million.
