Man jumps out of moving car, driver charged with assault

A West Perth woman is facing charges after a traffic incident.

The OPP says officers were sent to the intersection of Perth Road 130 and Perth Line 32 south of Sebringville Wednesday morning.

The police say a man was seen jumping from a Kia sedan that had been swerving in its lane.

The driver carried on, leaving the man behind.  He was treated at the scene for some injuries from his fall.

It was determined that just before the incident the driver of the Kia was giving the man a ride when she started driving dangerously and allegedly assaulted him.  He had jumped out due to fears for his own safety.

Officers found the driver in Mitchell a short time later and arrested her.

The 39-year-old has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and assault.
