Public meeting in Stratford tonight to discuss Boon situation

The Rick Boon controversy will be discussed in Stratford tonight at a public meeting.

A panel will examine the “lessons learned” from the Boon Family’s situation.  It’ll include Loreena McKennitt, veteran Art Boon, and Avon Maitland school board trustees.

Recently the Avon Maitland District School Board turned down Boon’s request for unpaid leave.  Boon was looking to go to the Netherlands with his father Art, who is a Second World War veteran.

Art had been invited to the country to celebrate the 70th anniversary of its liberation from the Nazis.

The meeting will be moderated by Canadian writer, journalist, professor and broadcaster Ted Barris.  It’s happening at the City Hall Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.

All are welcome to attend.
