OHA decision helps nudge Lincolns into playoffs

A ruling from the Ontario Hockey Association helped ensure a playoff spot for the St. Marys Lincolns.

The OHA had received a game protest for a match between the Chatham Maroons and the Lincolns in which the Maroons had eight import players in their lineup, over the allowable limit of seven.

Chatham won that December 1st contest 5-1.

The OHA Protest Committee ruled that Chatham’s points in that game be taken away and two points be awarded to St. Marys.

The ruling effectively gave St. Marys another win on the season and the edge over Lambton Shores for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference.
