President of VIA agrees to meet with local rail advocates

Chris West has convinced the president of VIA Rail to come talk to local rail groups.

West, the founder of Save VIA, says he spoke with Yves Desjardins-Siciliano in London earlier this week.  West says he explained to him how important the service is to this area:

At this point West says he’d like to keep the meeting small, inviting only one person from each of the local rail advocacy groups.  The three men running in the federal election and the mayors of Stratford and St. Marys would be invited as well.

However West says people will have another chance to speak with Desjardins-Siciliano:

There’s no word yet on when Desjardins-Siciliano will visit the area.
