5,000 trout being released in local watersheds today

There’s a going to be a record number of fish released in our area today.

5,000 Brook Trout are being reintroduced to restored streams in the Mud Creek and Avon River watersheds.  The Thames River Anglers, Upper Avon Conservation Club, and Upper Thames River Conservation Authority will be releasing the fish.

The first batch goes into the water at 10:00 a.m. at the Embro Pond Conservation Area on Road 84.  The next will be released at the Schmidt Family Farm on Line 40 north of Stratford at noon.
