Work-to-rule at public elementary schools begins

Public elementary school teachers begin strike actions today in the form of work-to-rule.

Keep in mind though the schools are open and classes are continuing as usual.  In a letter Avon Maitland Director of Education Ted Doherty outlined how students in the school board will be affected.

Teachers will not be taking part in some administrative activities, nor will they be participating in EQAO testing.  Staff meetings and professional development activities won’t be happening either.

Things like field trips, sports, and extracurriculars will still be going on though.
