Mental Health Response Protocol signed

A Mental Health Response Protocol has been signed.

It’s an agreement between the Stratford Police, Stratford General Hospital and the Perth County EMS.  The protocol is a way of ensuring all three agencies can work together effectively to respond to mental health emergencies in Stratford.

It was signed yesterday at Stratford General.  At the ceremony Stratford Police Chief John Bates said the protocol had already been implemented and was already paying off with better responses.

The protocol has been about a year in the making and was the brainchild of Deputy Police Chief Mike Bellai.
