The OPP is looking to hit the brakes on a deadly trend. As the long weekend approaches they’re reporting a nine-year high in motorcycle deaths.
They say 32 people died last year on OPP patrolled roads in motorcycle crashes. Police are expecting to see a good number of motorcycles during the holiday weekend.
They’re urging riders to keep themselves and their passengers as safe as possible. That means no drugs and no drinking.
Drivers are also being urged to be extra cautious around motorcycles and to pay extra attention to make sure they see riders.
