Schweitzer trial set for January

Michael Schweitzer’s new trial date has been set.

Reports say the accused killer’s trial will begin on January 4th next year with four weeks set aside for proceedings.  The date was decided at assignment court in Stratford on Friday.

A pre-trial meeting was also scheduled for September.  Schweitzer is facing first degree and attempted murder charges.

They’re in connection to the shootings of 17-year-old Nicole Wagler and then 22-year-old Tyler Baker in Milverton in 2012.  Wagler lost her life in the incident.

Schweitzer’s trial was supposed to have started this past March, but had to be pushed back after he hired a new lawyer.
