Huron East Council urging AMDSB to expand French Immersion

Huron East Council wants French Immersion schools.

They’ve passed a motion to strongly encourage the Avon Maitland District School Board to consider that request.  As it stands now French Immersion in the Avon Maitland board is only available at three schools in Stratford.

That means that only students who live on existing bus routes to the city are eligible for the program.  Councillor Kevin Wilbee believes that there is a general consensus in the community that French Immersion should be available to residents in Huron County.

The motion will be forwarded to other municipalities in Huron County for their endorsement and support.
