Cooper Site building demolition deferred

Not so fast.

That’s the position Stratford City Council took at Monday’s meeting when it comes to demolishing part of the Cooper Site building.  Council passed a motion to instead send out a request for proposals before any part of the building is taken down.

The RFP process would look for developers interested in using at least 75,000 square feet of the building in an adaptive reuse project.  In the meantime the loose materials will be removed and a fence will go up to comply with the outstanding unsafe order.

Council agreed on a deadline of four months for proposals after the RFP is put out.
