ParticipACTION report says kids spend too much time indoors, YMCA agrees

It’s more dangerous to keep your children inside than it is to let them out to play.  That’s the word from a recent ParticipACTION report.

It says less than 10% of kids between the ages of five and 17 get an hour of lively activity every day.  Mimi Price with the Stratford-Perth YMCA says that corresponds with a recent report of their own:

To help combat this issue the YMCA is promoting its summer camps program.

Between June 29th and September 4th the organization offers a number of different activities in Stratford, St. Marys, Shakespeare and Mitchell.

You can find more information about those programs at the YMCA’s website.

If you’d like to read the ParticipACTION report you can find it here.
