NDP candidate says VIA announcement is “encouraging” but not yet a “serious plan”

Reactions to an announcement that VIA Rail is looking at restoring an early morning daily train from Stratford to Toronto continue to come in.

Federal Perth-Wellington NDP candidate Ethan Rabidoux says credit should be given to local rail advocacy groups, but it’s not time to celebrate yet:

Rabidoux says VIA Rail will need to work with other companies before we see a new daily train in Stratford:

He added the VIA announcement leaves someone out:

It’s been nearly three years since VIA Rail cut Trains 86 and 89 from Stratford to Toronto.  Those trains operated on the Toronto-Kitchener-London line.
