C. difficile outbreak at Stratford General Hospital is over

A C. difficile outbreak at Stratford General Hospital has come to an end.  The Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance gave the all clear today.

C. difficile can damage the lining of the bowel in some hospitalized people.  The outbreak was first confirmed on May 20th in the Medicine/Integrated Stroke Unit.

The HPHA says in order to declare an outbreak over there must be a period of 30 days in which no more than one new case is reported.
Stratford General has reached that point.
