OPP officer seriously hurt in crash today

A Perth County OPP was officer seriously hurt while responding to an accident today.

Police say the officer was at the scene of an accident on Perth Road 131 just north of Milverton at around 12:30 p.m.

Her cruiser, which had its emergency lights on and road flares placed behind it, was hit by a pickup truck.

The officer was taken to hospital and the cruiser was totalled.

The 23-year-old Perth East woman who was driving the pickup wasn�t hurt.

Police say the truck was driving far too fast for the weather conditions.

The Perth County OPP is continuing their investigation into this collision, which was just one of 51 that officers responded to today.
