Randy Pettapiece’s resolution breezed through the Ontario Legislature yesterday.
The Perth-Wellington MPPs motion called on the government to protect taxpayers from higher property taxes by implementing a comprehensive, long-term solution to reform joint and several liability insurance by June.
Current liability rules drive up insurance premiums for small municipalities which also drives up property taxes.
The resolution passed with overwhelming support from all parties.
Vaughn Liberal MPP Steven Del Duca even commended Pettapiece for the non-partisan tone of his resolution.
