Food justice club off to great start

Food justice is coming to the people in our community.

About 25 people turned out for the first meeting of the Food Justice Club Wednesday night.

It took place at the Local Community Food Centre on Erie Street in Stratford.

Many ideas were discussed including urban farming, backyard community gardens, agriculture gleaning programs, community meals and travelling markets.

The committee is now developing plans for pushing these ideas through.

Its next meeting is scheduled for March 27th at 7:00pm in the food centre at 612 Erie Street.

The Food Justice Club will meet on the last Thursday of every month going forward.
