Festival HD project getting $3 million in funding

Some federal funding is aimed at creating a regional film industry centred in Stratford.  Perth-Wellington MP Gary Schellenberger announced this morning that up to $3 million dollars is going to the Stratford Economic Enterprise Development Corporation.

The money will benefit the Stratford Festival HD project.  The three-year project will digitize nine live theatre performances and make them available through cinemas, television and video-on-demand services.

The first three films were screened earlier this year.

On top of that the SEED Co. and the University of Waterloo will develop complementary, educational products.  They’ll include interactive games and apps.
