Decision on Oxford landfill site delayed again

Oxford residents will have to wait a little longer to find out if they’re getting a new landfill site.

The proposal for a meg-dump in a Zorra Township quarry has been opposed by the Oxford Coalition for Social Justice.

The company pushing for it says it will likely need until June to revise its terms of reference with the province.

The Ministry of the Environment can approve or deny the proposal.

Bryan Smith is one of the leading opponents of the landfill site.

He says they thought for sure the provincial government would have issued a ruling by now.

The proposed landfill would border Ingersoll, Centreville and Beachville.
