Environment Canada confirms tornado in Teviotdale

Environment Canada has confirmed a tornado touched down Sunday night.

It ripped through Teviotdale with winds reaching 220 km/h.  The tornado cut a roughly nine kilometre long path of damage.

About 50,000 people had their electricity go out but power has been restored to nearly all of them.

There were no reports of any injuries.
