Stratford Police Chief John Bates is stepping down.
He’s taking the same position with the Saint John Police Force in New Brunswick. He was first hired as deputy chief here in Stratford in 2006 and was promoted to chief in 2012.
The Stratford Police Services Board says it’ll discuss the process to find a new chief at its next meeting in September.
Chief Bates will be moving on in November.
