Huron County OPP Warn of new Phishing Scam

A phishing scam has cost a Central Huron woman $2,100.

Someone pretending to be an RBC investigator called the woman telling her credit card was compromised.

He said he was working the RCMP and he needed her to wire some money back to him after a phony refund was issued.

The Huron County OPP says the woman was taken because the man was very convincing and even used a fake internet screen that looked just like her online banking report.

The OPP is once again reminding you to verify the identity of anyone who asks you to send them money.
