$300,000 to be invested locally in new software aimed at reducing poverty

The provincial government is investing some big money into a new program created at the University of Waterloo Stratford.

$300,000 is coming from the Local Poverty Reduction Fund.  The money will be spent on software that allows organizations to collect, analyze, and share data on poverty in Perth and Huron Counties.

The information gathered will then be used by the provincial government, allowing it to make better use of its poverty reduction programs. Deputy Premier Deb Matthews made the funding announcement this morning at the U of W Stratford campus.
