Queen Elizabeth’s reign being recognized by City of Stratford

The City of Stratford will be paying tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.

On September 9th she’ll become the longest reigning monarch in British history, surpassing Queen Victoria.  On that day Elizabeth II will have been queen for 63 years and 217 days.

The City says the Monarchist League of Canada got in touch Mayor Dan Mathieson, as well as other mayors across the country, to suggest a simple civic ceremony to mark the day.

The ceremony is happening next Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. in front of City Hall.
