Spay/Neuter Awareness Month campaign gets good results

February’s spay/neuter campaign was a big success.

The Animal Welfare Coalition of Perth and Oxford Counties reports that Perth Veterinary Services did more than double the number of surgeries they usually do in that time period, up from 10 to 22.

Avon Pet Hospital did 27 surgeries in February, up from 12 the month before.

The Animal Welfare Coalition is pleased with the results, saying the campaign has prevented hundreds of unwanted kittens and puppies from being born in Stratford this spring.

Avon Pet Hospital will continue to offer the discounted spay/neuter procedures until March 15th.
