GRCA issues warning to parents during March Break

The Grand River Conservation Authority is urging you to keep the children safe during March Break.

Kids are out of school and may be drawn to play around frozen ponds, creeks and rivers during the week.

With temperatures on the rise these can be dangerous places.

Banks will be slippery and where there’s open water, it will be very cold and moving quickly.

Parents are encouraged to keep kids and pets away from watercourses and off frozen water bodies.

Ice thickness can be much different from one step to the next so keep off of it.

More information on water safety is available at the GRCA website.
