Driver tries to evade RIDE check

A 39-year-old South Huron man showed yet again that you can’t evade a RIDE check.

Huron County OPP has a RIDE program set up at the intersection of Crediton Road and Morrison Line last Friday night.

Police noticed a GMC Sierra pickup headed towards the checkpoint at around 8:00pm when it suddenly did a U-turn.

Police chased it down and pulled it over on Huron Park Road.

The driver was impaired.

In addition to being charged, he also lost his license for 90 days and his vehicle for a week.
