Canada Post apologizing for weather related community mailbox issues

This wintry weather seems to be wreaking havoc on some community mailboxes in Stratford.

Complaints have come into our station about them, mostly to do with snow removal and frozen locks. Canada Post spokesperson Eugene Knapik confirms they have gotten some complaints from Stratford residents.

He says there were a few spots that Canada Post had cleared but they were filled back in by municipal plows. As for the frozen locks Knapik says that’s a new problem:

If the lock on your CMB is frozen he says you shouldn’t try to open it yourself:

If there are any issues with your box, including snow or ice buildup, you can let them know about the problem at this website or by calling 1-866-607-6301.

In the meantime Canada Post is apologizing to anyone for the inconvenience of not being able to get to your mail.
