Police still going after drunk drivers

Despite their recent focus on distracted driving, police are not taking their eyes of drunk drivers either.

The Perth County OPP held a RIDE check at Perth Line 87 and Perth Road 165, north-west of Listowel last Friday.

Police stopped at vehicle at around 6:00pm.

The male driver had been drinking.

He lost his license for 30 days.

For the driver’s licence to be reinstated he will have a six month ignition interlock condition and will be required to take an alcohol treatment program.

Two other drivers also registered in the warn range at a RIDE program along Highway 23 at Line 87 and at a program on Elm Avenue North at Main Street East in Listowel.

These two drivers had their drivers licences seized for three days.
