A big jump in the fine for distracted driving wasn’t enough to deter some people.
The Perth County OPP slapped three drivers with tickets yesterday, which was the first day of $280 fines for distracted driving.
Police say one of those people was driving an 18-wheeler through the busy St. Marys downtown.
The Perth County OPP says their education and enforcement efforts will continue as distracted driving has become the number one cause of fatal accidents on the roads.
