Two more local farms infected with PED

Two more cases of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea have been found in our region.

The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture Food and Rural Affairs confirms that a Finisher operation in Perth and a farrow-to-finisher operation in Huron have been infected by the nasty virus.

This brings the total number of cases in the province up to 33 with five in Perth County, three in Huron and eight in Oxford County.

PED has wiped out millions of piglets in the United States and has spread to Manitoba, Quebec and PEI.
