Health Minister Deb Matthews boasted in the Ontario Legislature this week that there are now 5000 more doctors working in the province than a decade ago.
She added that the ‘doctors are going where they’re needed.’
Randy Pettapiece wants to know where exactly all these doctors have gone.
The Perth-Wellington MPP sought some clarification from the minister given that many local residents are still without a family doctor.
Pettapiece wrote to Matthews to ask three questions: how many of these 5,000 doctors practice in Perth-Wellington; of those, how many are family physicians; and does this account for population growth?
