Man hit with list of charges after fleeing from OPP

A man is facing multiple charges after running from the police.

The Perth County OPP says just before 5:00 p.m. yesterday an officer spotted a suspicious car leaving a home on Road 145 northwest of Sebringville.

The car headed to Highway 8, where a stopped OPP cruiser signalled for it to stop.

Instead the driver crashed into the cruiser as he tried to get away and got hung up on a snow bank.

The man took off running but was arrested a short time later.

Police found the car had been taken without permission from a Huron County residence.

The 30-year-old man of no fixed address faces seven charges, including three counts of possession of stolen property and possession of cocaine.
